Els Sortidors del ParlamentChillax Barcelona Holiday Apartment is situated in the neighbourhood of Sant Antoni in the district of Eixample in Barcelona. In this neighbourhood is one particular street called ‘Carrer Parlament’ where quite a few cafes and bars including new ones are located making it one of the liveliest streets in Sant Antoni. It is there where the locals mingle and socialise, breakfast meetings take place and an ever increasing number of visitors are enjoying themselves. Carrer Parlament is also just one block away from Sant Antoni Market which is currently being re-build and due to open again next year. Certainly, another Barcelona tourist attraction to be and one that may just rival La Boqueria Market on Las Ramblas.

Here are a few cafes and bars in Carrer Parlament in very close proximity well worth having a cafe at, to enjoy great food or to simply have a relaxing time:

1. Bodega Les Sortidors del Parlament

This is a great place for the lovers of good quality drinks and great tasty food. They have a huge selection of wines from all over the world and of course quite a number of Catalan wines too. The staff there are really friendly and the service is outstanding. This is a Bodega you just want to stay at and that is exactly what many people do! Have a look at their lovely website www.elssortidors.com

2. Federal Cafe

A very trendy Cafe over 3 floors including an upstairs terrace. They serve quality food and drinks, always have fresh flowers and they really make an effort at all times! It is popular with trendsetters and those working away on their laptops as there is free Wifi too! Especially on weekend mornings it tends to get very busy so better be an early bird www.federalcafe.es/barcelona/

3. Bodega Vinito

This is a very easy-going and fun place to be for some tapas and drinks. The Bodega is very small and open to the street with people even standing or sitting on chairs on the pavement! Love it! And in the summer you even get the occasional buskers adding to the atmosphere and providing free entertainment. Check out the gallery of their website www.vinitobcn.com it just tells you all!

4. Bar Calders

Situated in a cul-de-sac this is one of the district’s best kept secret and has an outdoor terrace too! They serve some tapas and if you like reading there is also a selection of books. Just as Time Out Barcelona said ‘God has heard our prayers’. This is a great undiscovered spot! Sorry no website but try Google Images it’s worth it!

5. Bar & Cafe Tarrana

A fairly new bar and cafe right on the corner of Parlament and Viladomat streets. It is very cozy and has lots of personality besides great food and wines. It it has a few pavement tables too. Their website is www.tarannacafe.com but I recommend click on their Facebook page to see some photos of their delicious dishes and cakes. Yum Yum Yum!
